About Chepstowe Vineyard in Carnham

Chepstowe Vineyard sits atop the north-eastern shoulder of a wind-swept ridge in Carngham (we could also be considered to be located in Chepstowe or Snake Valley) in South West Victoria.

Just 20kms west of Ballarat, the area is known for its short but hot and dry summers and bitterly cold winters. Protected from harsh frosts by the unique topography of the area, it is the perfect place for growing cool climate grapes — including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The extended ripening period allows for the development of complex fruit flavour without compromising the structure of the wine — combined with lower yields, this enables us to produce fruit with great concentration of flavour and intensity.
